Discussion |
| “Our Forests, Our Wants Met?” with Noel Fletcher, PNF Wildlife
Biologist. How does the Prescott National Forest balance the needs of wildlife
with the wants of people? This presentation, at the Highlands Center for
Natural History, will be a fun opportunity to discuss and interact with
one who tries, and to observe some to the real life effects in the field,
of choices made. |

Field Trip |
| Michael Byrd, Executive Director and Preserve Manager for Prescott Creeks,
will lead field trip participants on an exploration of local flora and
fauna as well as ecological restoration within Watson Woods Riparian Preserve
in Prescott, Arizona. Restoration elements featured will include the special
wildlife habitats such as Granite Creek, wetlands and re-vegetation areas.
Participants should bring water, sunscreen, and a wide-brimmed hat and
be prepared to get off the 'beaten path' during this excursion. Meet at
the parking area for Watson Woods Preserve and the Peavine Trail (off of Prescott Lakes Parkway across from the Yavapai Humane Society). |

Panel Discussion |
| In Sharlot Hall Museum’s main gallery (415 W. Gurley St) there will be a panel discussion, “Living
with Wildlife: Solutions for Preserving our Natural Heritage.” Featured
speakers include Dan Campbell (The Nature Conservancy) who will address
the function and values of Greenways, Paul Beir (NAU) who will discuss
the Arizona Missing Linkages program, and Steven Corey (Prescott College
and the Open Space Acquisition Advisory Committee) who will be discussing
features of the City of Prescott’s Open Space Master Plan. |

Bird Walk |
| Members of Prescott Audubon will lead a Bird Walk at Watson Woods Riparian
Preserve. Participants will learn about the diverse population of birds
at Watson Woods and discover why this area has been designated an Important
Bird Area (IBA). Bring binoculars and water, and wear sun protection. Meet
at the parking area for Watson Woods Preserve and the Peavine Trail (off of Prescott Lakes Parkway across from the Yavapai Humane Society). |

Regional Wildlife Expo |
| The Open Space Alliance will host a Regional Wildlife Expo at Sharlot
Hall Museum (415 W. Gurley St) from 9:00am to 4:00pm featuring numerous wildlife exhibits,
lectures, Q&A, children’s activities, food and entertainment.
The public will have an opportunity to learn about living sensibly with
wildlife and discover how our developing region can work to maintain its
rich wildlife heritage. |
